Review & Description

For the past ten years, we have been on a chocolate-finding
mission. With so much chocolate in the world, and so many little shops here and there (especially in our beloved New York City), Professor Chocolate wishes to maximize your New York City chocolate-touring experience. “Professor Chocolate” is actually two people who have developed and coauthored this guidebook. We are elementary school teachers by day and chocolate-seeking aficionados by night and weekend. We do not judge the quality of chocolate, nor do we consider ourselves connoisseurs in the traditional sense. We simply love chocolate, love fi nding it, and love sharing our research with anyone who is interested.

Most tour books that we’ve seen are saved for profiling whole
countries or cities, and have minimal sections on where to find the best food and sweets. Not this tour book. We’ve specifi cally created this handbook to help make chocolate accessible to the confection-conscious traveler. This entire publication is dedicated to uncovering, profi ling, and mapping every chocolate boutique in New York City based on geography. Many cities boast a handful or two of some very talented chocolatiers and their shops. New York City, on the other hand, is blessed with enough chocolate boutiques that two books are needed! This is the first
installment. We hope that as you read this book, you will write and scribble in it as well. Ample room is provided per location to chronicle and describe your own chocolate-tasting experience. There are so many different kinds of truffles, bonbons, bars, drinks and barks in the world of chocolate. It is almost impossible to know just how your taste buds will react, so don’t hesitate to document your personal favorites! Comments can, and should of course, be shared with us on our website:

professorchocolate.com.

Let the journey be the reward.

Cocoatastically,
Professor Chocolate (a.k.a. Neill and Rob) Read more
